As the second semester finally closes on what seems like a fruitful year, for myself and for Linux, the amount of free time that I have has greatly increased. This however lead a good friend of mine to approach me with his very sad looking laptop, begging for some help. His fairly new Dell laptop was, very sadly, chug to the brim of heavenly maleware. The advantages of choosing Linux

Whenever I talk to people about changing to Linux there is always one major question that they ask. Why?
Now of course this is quite a reasonable question considering the effort that comes with changing an OS on one's computing device. A long time ago when someone asked me that question I always answered that it was because Ubuntu (Linux distribution I have always used) is a free OS that optimises my system hardware and is not any harder to navigate then windows. And welcome to the first blog from my corner of the interweb.
Firstly let me introduce myself again for those who haven't or can not be bothered to read my profile page. My name is Zachary Rappell and I am, like most people I know, an avid user of Open Source and in particular Ubuntu Linux. However, this does not mean that my thoughts or writings represent the same of those on the Open Source Technology Solutions team. Luckily for me they have kindly given me this little niche into which I can culture my own thoughts and given me the privilege to share them with you, the avid reader.
